The game takes you to the Civil Was of the US (1861-1864) and you can choose either the North or the South.
The whole interface is a map where you can move your armies and even take over enemies? states, forts or harbors. With doses of humor you battle against your opponents by using infantry, cavalry or cannons (you can switch among them anytime). Reinforcements can be done via ships or by taking money by train. During battles, the terrains seen from above are beautiful with lots of colors ? while the armies look so tiny- and the sound is funny with very good FX. In some quests, such as taking over a fort, the game s perspective changes to side scrolling, where you control a single soldier and try to kick and stab the enemies in order to reach the flag and possess the fort before the time runs out. The same happens when you chase a train, in order to lute its supplies from the enemies.
The C64 version uses nice colors (but hell, why the little infantry/cavalry and cannons sprites are only in black like...shadows?), and good sound effects (better than the CPC). The nice intro music theme is also included here, while a few digitized sound effects (like the train engine, and the ... laughing photographer!) are used to.
