The arcade version of the game had up to three players available for play. The players are members of a covert counter-terrorist team known the "Wolf Force". The aim of the game was to rescue the former President from rebels in the fictional African country of Zutula, which bears resemblance to the apartheid regime in South Africa.
The game has six main levels, plus the final level where your mission is to rescue the president from the Hercules Transport. The game's weapons include real-world machine guns, grenades, and flamethrowers as well as futuristic plasma launchers, and several missions have flying vehicles available. Note that the game was the successor of the old good Commando game released on 1985 on both 8 and 16 bits platforms.
The C64 version is colorful with nicely animated sprites, smooth enough scrolling and beautifully drawn backgrounds (sometimes though the colors are confusing the gameplay). Terrains offer groves of palm trees, army barracks crawling with soldiers etc. The level guardians are particularly nicely designed including a Harrier, a huge Tank etc. The game runs way smoother here when compared to the CPC and ZX versions which makes the game more playable and fun.
It also features a catchy gameplay tune along with a few SFX.
