Feel the thrill and reality of flying the world's most advanced military hardware and classic jet aircraft of our time. Fighter Bomber is one of the most exciting flight simulation back in 1990.

Review
Fighter BomberThis is one of the most exciting flight simulation I've even experienced on the 16bits. A military flight sim full of action with the ability to fly the world's most advanced military hardware and classic jet aircraft of our time and lots of missions to accomplish.
The game offers a free-flight option, allowing you to get accustomed to controls, scenery and viewpoints. Real bombing missions are obviously the best part. There are 16 of these, divided into four groups of four missions, dependent on the target(s). Missions that take place in the skies above South Dakota, North Dakota, Wyoming and Montana are all taken from the real thing, and the ability to choose the proper bird among 4 aircrafts is quite nice. Each aircraft has its own bombing and dog-fighting capabilities, so care must be given to your choice before according to missions briefing.
The game here is quite addictive but a bit slow due to the 8bit hardware limitations. Fighter bomber is surely damn difficult and some of the missions are almost impossible to carry-out, but the choice of several aircrafts to fly was quite unique back then!

The visuals here are nice, with detailed aircraft and cockpit models, while the terrain is in real 3D filled with roads, buildings, bridges etc. The 3D animation is good considering the C64's hardware of course. You can choose between 4 aircrafts (MIG-27,Tornado, F-4 and F-111) and you can fly any of the enemy aircrafts too (this feature is missing on the CPC version), a feature rather impressive! The sound features a good intro music and typical sound effects (aircraft engine throttle, gun fire etc).
