Review
Batman The MovieBatman must save Gotham City from The Joker. The storyline is based on the 1989 movie, featuring 5 levels of great platform action. The game starts at the Axis chemical plant, were Mr Jack Napier became the monster he is... the Joker! Hunt down Napier and fight with his deadly gang in order to success to the next level. Use your fists, kicks, Batarangs and Bat-rope in order to survive. At the second level, Joker is chasing you and has to escape to Batcave using your Batmobile. You should Avoid deadly traps such as police road blocks, incoming traffic other, and believe me is not easy as the gameplay gets frustrating here (hard to control the beast...). There is also a third stage offering mastermind puzzle gameplay.
The ZX Spectrum version runs only on 48k or 128k models having differences only on sound.

The Spectrum version offers nice graphics displaying all of the original details. Note that the game released on the Spectrum and later ported to the Amstrad CPC, thus both versions use the same level detail with a huge difference though in coloring (as normal due to CPC advanced color palette). Overall the ZX graphics look identical to the MSX version as both machines use 4-5 colors on screen mainly in blue and black!
As far as the sound, the game when running on 128k, features a great main-menu and several in-game tunes along with a few nice sound effects (gunshots, explosions etc), much like the CPC version. I must mention here that the Commodore 64 version offers a excellent in-game tunes (due to its SID sound generator chip), found on the most advanced 16bit version!
