The cyber world of Thraxx is about to enter a new era of darkness and despair. The dark lord of nightmares, Havok, having slept for 10.000 years has finally woken. The Fireblade has been broken, and it's sixteen pieces scattered through the underworld where Havok now reigns. The slaughter has begun, and all of the Bladeknights (hi0tech warriors of Traxx) are dead, except one.
The game is a cross between shoot 'em up and a platform gameplay (typically a platform-shooter) in which the level areas becomes visible as you progress and plays in flip-screen mode. You control Hiro (the only survived Bladeknight) through six levels who must reassemble the 16 fragments of the shattered Fireblade. Only then can he take on Havoc and avenge his peoples death. There are several enemies on your way who must be taken out by using your feasts or kicks but also with fire-arms found later. As you progress, you can find bonus weapons and secret rooms.
The ZX port offers acceptable graphics, similar in quality to the Amstrad CPC but with fewer colors, with detailed backgrounds and smooth sprite animation, although the sprites are really small as in all versions. As far as the sound, the game here offers limited spot effect being almost soundless.
