Review
Power and Magic Nimiane, the Lady of the Lake deceived Merlin, the well known magician, and locked his spirit in an oak tree in the forest. You control Gareth, the son of the magician and your mission will be to free your father's spirit from confinement so that he can transfer all his knowledge to you. Gareth needs to travel in a hostile world full of warriors, magicians, demons and monsters. To defend himself with his fists, but as the journey goes, he can find a sword and knowledge of magic, taken from others found on his way. There are five different types of spells. To use them you need to recharge your magic power, marked with a bar to the right of the screen, by killing the magicians that appear from time to time.
Power & Magic is an addictive (but rather difficult) action adventure and platform game.

The ZX version has nice graphics with big sprites and bright colors, although the animation suffers a lot and makes the gameplay difficult! The man difference with the CPC version is the number of colors being used (up to 8 for the ZX and MSX, and up to 16 for the CPC).The sound is typical featuring a few sound effects of shooting and explosions but nothing really special
