RR is a great racing game (originally hit the arcades) developed by Namco for the PSone (two versions) in 1994 and 1996 and later ported on the N64 in 1999.
 
Review
Ridge Racer Evolution Namco's classic Ridge Racer coin-op game, hit the PSOne in 1995 and 1996 as Ridge Racer and Ridge Racer Evolution respectively. This port is a great example of Playstation's potential in 3D racing games. It features 10-15 cars, many of which must be unlocked and obtained later on. The gameplay mechanics allows players to use full degree powerslides to zip around sharp turns without losing speed. The game also supports a two-player mode, via split screen.

RR is pretty cool. It uses a solid framerate and very good visual looks, though a bit inferior to those of the N64 version and the original arcade machine. Though the environments are colorful and detailed, the vehicles are somewhat low in polygon-count, but this doesn't means that the game is visually bad. On the contrary, this game still rocks. The sound features great clubbing-style music scores and real-car sound FX while racing. RR is one of the best racers ever appeared on this award-winning console.
