Parasite Eve II is the sequel to Parasite Eve, a series of survival horror games developed by the infamous Square for the PSOne, in 1999. The game uses the same mechanics as the Resident Evil series from Capcom.

Review
Parasite Eve II Aya Brea (member of MIST Agency), after surviving from the dangers of the first Parasite Eve, is now back to solve a new mystery and destroy a different breed of monsters (the Neo Mitochondrion). Her quest begins after she is called to enter a building (the Acropolis Tower), facing a total disaster. Everyone is dead. The whole city is in chaos. The environment is totally wrecked and small deadly creatures start to appear around, waiting to attack their next victim. She must search, solve puzzles, gather weapons and use them against numerous enemies of various sizes and powers. Will she manage to survive once more? It's up to you people.

This game looks pretty much like the Resident Evil series (1, 2 and 3) featuring pre-rendered, polished backgrounds and 3D polygon characters. The atmosphere is really creepy and the sound plays its own unique part to it. There are fantastic music scores and sound FX surrounding Aya at her quest, making the player jump off his couch many times (Resident Evil anyone?). Though it does not have the "virtues" of a Resident Evil game (zombies, for example), this game is great to play with. For me, it's a great thing to see a development team mostly specialized in RPG games to succeed in the survival horror genre as well.

Interesting game. Looks like Resi! Well I do prefer the last one, but I'll give a try to this one too.
