STORY / GAMEPLAY
Big street gangs of NY want to regain control over the city and, above all, secure their territories by kidnapping CIA's Head Officer (called the "Boss"). Your mission is to find and free "The Boss" and to bring him back to safety. Yoou can use your Magnum 457 and your street fighting skills to kill the gang members, but you also have a companion, a beautiful panther called Black Virgin. But most of the times this feline is almost of no use! There are five levels, each swarmed by gang members. you can kill but you can also jump over them to the next screen without having to fight (oh yes that's easy). The gameplay is inconsistent at times. It is very easy at the first two sections and then it suddenly gets much tougher. The use of flick-screen rather than scrolling means that it's certain for the main character to get caught between screens. You can easily walk through the levels by either shooting everyone (as long as you have bullets) or just running (and jumping) past them! The game is also available for the Commodore 64, Amstrad CPC and CPC+, ZX Spectrum 128k, Amiga and Atari ST.
GRAPHICS / SOUND
The ZX version runs on 128k models only and has nicely drawn backdrops but in black and white! As in all 8bit versions, the sprites' animation suffers a lot and the action is slow, much like the CPC version. The sound has a nice introductory theme along with a catchy but repetitive in-game tune but no sound effects available!
