STORY / GAMEPLAY The story begins where the first Colony Wars ends. The Earth Forces have already lost the grand war against the aliens and those who survived are now held prisoners somewhere inside the Sol System, without being able to contact anyone. Everything has fallen apart and the members of the Colony cannot do anything about it, until Kron appears. Kron is a Commander and a very capable pilot who sets off to unite all survivors and prepare them for their vengeance against the alien forces. As Kron, your main cause is to pilot your spaceship and unleash hell once more. On your way, you will fight against other spaceships of different kinds and shapes, fighters or even space minefields planted around. You must also protect your allied ships! Fortunately you're not alone this time since your Navy squadron is there to help you. Gamers who never played a Colony Wars game (or a clone of it) might find it difficult to maneuver the spaceship but after some practice with loops, accelerating and/or decelerating you will soon be able to pilot and use its guns with ease. Apart from your shield's limits your flying monster has a number of different projectiles like plasma guns, missiles, pods and anti-shield weapons that will help you break any enemy shield. Upon breaking an enemy's shield, you can aim your main weapons and enjoy its destruction to pieces with a grand fire blast! You must beware of your weapons' overheating because the number of shots will be diminished. So you need to let your cannons cool down a bit. On the ships' cockpit you have a map showing the enemy and allied forces as dots, so it helps to navigate, spot and shoot the aliens.
GRAPHICS / SOUND Colony Wars: Vengeance is simply beautiful! It features 3D graphics with great details, thousands of colors, special effects (like explosions) and a very artistic space background (with planets and more). These cool visuals are accompanied by some impressive sound effects and a stunning music score. Vengeance is a fun game for those who love 3D shooters and I guess it won't disappoint anyone who gives it a try. Its total presentation and playability will make you think that you are taking part in a Star Trek movie (or something). Personally, I really enjoy playing this game!
